Was surfing for new WP themes when I saw this very popular magazine layout by Michael Jubel. Its beautiful and the best part is…its FREE! In less than 6 hours..I will be having my first of my final 3 exam papers. This whole week is gona be slow moving as every alternate day comes with a main course called Exams!
To be honest I did not really study much for this exam, my mind is all about the holidays after the exam. Maybe I will write something on how to relax during the exams since I don’t feel stressed at all! Hopefully I can re-do the feat of having at least a result of BBC for my first 3 modules last semester without putting in much effort. ![]()

In this era, there seems to be choices for everything…from the food we eat, to the types of cars we drive and to the types of clothings found in this world. The internet is so powerful today that it can influence almost everything with the exception of eBay.
Sellers (like me) can only look up to eBay to sell our products since it is the one and only auction site that can reach out to the massive internet consumers. There is virtually no competition at the moment although Google did announce that they were researching on getting up their own auction site too. To refresh you readers, that was something like two years ago…and now we are already 6 months away from 2009. The eBay name is so powerful that internet consumers would instantly look up to the site for answers to their wants. Yahoo Auctions is totally omitted from the competition and the only countries are still into them are Singapore & Japan (correct me if im wrong here).
There are several advantages to having a monopoly of internet auction (referring to eBay). Firstly, it really makes life easier for consumers as information can be easily obtained through one site. Just searching ‘Nike’ in eBay alone brought me thousands of products. Similarly, sellers have an advantage as the site yields a high percentage of buyers into the site.
The recent price hike for selling in eBay has called for protests by loads of sellers but will that deter them from selling? eBay must have known that the little price increase would still attract sellers and profits could be higher instead. I guess they are not that dumb to increase prices knowingly that profits would hurt and members would leave.
I’m not sure if its that hard to get an auction site running. Maybe its the payment problem that people are afraid of. eBay has a secure payment procedure from Paypal…which will increase buyers’ confidence. If anyone is thinking of introducing something like eBay, they have better tie up with some secure payment company first.
